kate and andy spade's nyc digs courtesy of the selby

I can't think of a better way to kick off my return than Kate and Andy Spade's NYC apartment that was recently photographed by Todd Selby.  While their home has appeared in a few magazine spreads over the years, the Selby photos give us a slightly more in-depth peek at their home.

I hope you're as inspired by their home and art collection as I am.  (Also check out the adorable photo of Andy with their daughter, Bea!)

Their entry hall is the inspiration for the makeover I'm doing on my own!

autumn

Well, it officially feels like autumn in DC.  The cool weather is settling in and we're even getting a few rain showers to boot.  My favorite part of this time of year is bringing my fall and winter clothes from the back to the front of the closet.  It's like getting a new wardrobe!

the multi-tasker

I'm busy multi-tasking right now.  Unfortunately I've maxed out on tasks and today's blog post has gotten pushed down the list.  Proper blog post to come tonight (will be writing while watching Bachelor Pad)!

checkmate

I haven't yet moved in to the new condo, but I'm already plotting a kitchen remodel.  I'm drawn to the black and white checkerboard patterns I've been seeing lately.  But, instead of laying the pattern in a horizontal line, I much prefer the pattern laid on a diagonal.

mark your calendars

I just received an email in my inbox that the June/July issue of Lonny is set to go live next Thursday, June 10!  The email noted that they're "pulling out all the stops" for this issue and from the looks of the cover and the sneak peak included in the email, it sounds like they have.

Features include Bunny Williams's seaside retreat, Elizabeth Bauer's Gramercy Park pad, and cover girl Deborah Lloyd's lakeside home.  Deborah serves as the Co-President and Creative Director for kate spade new york.

Speaking of Deborah Lloyd, I remembered that Michelle Adams, Lonny's talented editor, featured a few photos of her Brooklyn home on her own blog a while back.  I've included them below, because I just love Deborah's taste in clothing and interior design!  She really seems to embody the kate spade brand. These photos originally appeared in the February 2009 issue of Harper's Bazaar.

UPDATE: If you'd like to keep tabs on Lonny magazine, you can "subscribe" through this link.
