glam grey in house beautiful

Looks like the editors at House Beautiful were also feeling the love for grey this month.  They're featuring interior designer Andrew Raquet's Brookville, New York home in their September issue.

P.S.  Speaking of the HB September issue, I am absolutely in love with the all-lacquer paint spread!  The colors in the living room are awesome (and reminiscent of the color scheme from my old bedroom).  Enjoy these bonus pics!

welcome home

windsor smith at home

Well, I'm all moved in to my new pad and have begun to settle in a bit.  One of the items on my (long) list of projects for the place is to paint the back of the front door a glossy black.  I've been in love with black lacquer doors for years and I'm excited to finally have the freedom to paint the door whatever color I want!  Speaking of...I'm heavily leaning toward Farrow & Ball's Off-Black in full gloss.  (P.S. Is it just me or did Farrow & Ball re-do their website?)

spring fever: blue is the color of the season

(Albert Hadley's NYC apartment)

It's hard to escape the amount of blue in this spring's design mags and blogs. House Beautiful dedicated their entire March issue to the color blue and featured an array of amazing paint colors. I just checked out the newly re-designed Elle Decor website, and they're featuring a slideshow of gorgeously-desgined blue rooms, including this stylish room from Albert Hadley's NYC apartment. I'll be helping my roommate paint her bedroom next weekend in a shade very similar to the one Albert used. Enjoy the rest of the pictures!
