I'm back!

Zapatillas | Bocas del Toro, Panama
Six weeks after my last post, I'm officially back to blogging!  The past weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind of activities.  I spent a week out in California campaigning for one of my company's clients, then went on an AH-mazing vacation to Panama with some friends from college (the photo above is one of my favorites from the trip!).  Now, I'm back in DC, getting settled back in to work and plotting the next projects around my house.  First up is (finally) painting the interior of my condo!  Stay tuned friends.

P.S.  Thanks to the many people who have put a bug in my ear about updating the blog.  Glad to know I have such faithful readers!

inspiration: masculine decor

My brother's house in Atlanta (Decatur, to be exact) needs a makeover.  Actually, like nearly every bachelor pad, it just needs to be decorated period.  I pulled a bunch of inspiration photos for his place and wanted to share them with you.  My vision for his 1950's ranch-style brick house is a cross between a lake house, surf shack and swinging bachelor pad.

Thom Filicia's NY lake home (featured in Domino magazine) comes the closest to my vision.  I hope you enjoy these photos!

dreaming of a vacation home

It's been cold and rainy in DC for the past two days and it doesn't show signs of letting up until later this week, so what better to daydream about than my very own vacation home in a warm weather spot?!  This month's Elle Decor features Meg Ryan's Martha's Vineyard vacation home.  I love that she has used so much white throughout her home.  If I'm ever lucky enough to have a vacation home, it would definitely have a fresh feeling like Meg's.  Be sure to check out her decorating tips on ED's website.

I'm a sucker for a great view and this home's definitely got one!

I'm really looking forward to this weekend when my issue of ED comes in the mail. The summer issues are always my favorite because they feature so many beautiful summer vacation homes.   Doesn't the cover make you want to dine outdoors tonight?
